Calvin was baptized in First Congregational Church in 1778. He came to Maine with his parents in 1788 and settled in Plantation #4 (Paris), but was evicted from his first farm land because he had no proper deed. He married Elizabeth “Betsy” Swan about 1790, although no record of their marriage has been found. She was born a twin, 2 Feb 1766 in Bolton, MA to William and Lucy (Robbins) Swan. Her sister died the next day. Betsy died in Greenwood in 1846 and is buried in the Cole cemetery on Rowe Hill. William Swan was a dear friend of Eleazer Cole from their Revolutionary War days. Calvin and Betsy moved to Rowe Hill after they lost their land and spent their last days with Southern and Mary Cole.
Resided in Woodstock, ME; eight children.
