Birth record in Peru under the list of children for Oliver B and Philinda (Andrews) Canwell records her birth date as 15 May 1835 and name as “Mercy Andrews: Canwell has been presumed as her surname as being another child in the list; town clerk attests, and other family births (and Oliver B’s death) recorded underneath.
She is with her remarried mother, Dorothy Allen and her brother Freeland Q, in the home of William Allen of Sumner at time of 1850 USC; she marries Stephen P Wing in 1851; in her intentions, she is listed as being from Peru; in her actual marriage listing, she is noted as from Franklin Plantation.
Name listed in 1860 USC for Franklin Plantation as Mercy B.
