https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89DL-6JGC Mary declines to be administrator, instead asking son Reuben named. Zebediah died intestate and estate was insolvent. Reuben died in 1805 and some of the estate debts were still unsettled even as late as 1822 (by which time, Reuben Buck, Jr., had settled Reuben Buck Sr.’s estate and had removed to Maine), when the estate is reopened by request of John Pelsue of Wilmington, who had debts against the estate (heirs requested someone other than Mr. Pelsue be appointed, but this request was apparently denied). Land acknowledged to still be in the name of Zebediah Buck was inventoried, but it still did not amount to more than debts owed. Land was sold.
Sons Simeon and Zebediah Jr./III were minors over the age of 14 at the time of Zebediah Sr.’s death. They chose as their guardian Samuel Eames of Wilmington.
