William H Holman
William H. Holman of Lewiston died suddenly Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. M. Marks, North Belgrade, where he was spending the summer. He had been in poor health for several years.
Mr. Holman was born in Biddeford, the son of John and Mary Felker Holman. When a boy he followed the sea and served a carpenter’s apprenticeship. He came to Lewiston in 1877, and has made his home here ever since. He married Sarah A. Wentworth of Bethel who died eight years ago. He was an expert builder and has been foreman of many of the most important constructions in Maine.
Mr. Holman always made his home his primary interest. He was one of the oldest members of Eureka Lodge, Knights of Pythias, having become connected with that lodge when Mount David Lodge of Lewiston gave up its charter. He was a member of the Carpenter’s and Joiner’s Union No. 407 of this city.
For the past two years Mr. Holman has made his home with his daughters, Mrs. Frank C. Buck, Lewiston, and Mrs. E.M. Marks, North Belgrade. Besides his daughters he leaves two sons, Frank H. and William W. of Lewiston, a half-brother, D. Horace Holman, and a half-sister, Mrs. Hattie Johnson, both residing in Massachusetts. He leaves also four grandchildren.
