NEWELL-REMICK

- this is a request for a copy of the marriage license for:

Susan Remick
Born: 11/15/1849 Jefferson, N.H.
Died: 9/21/1900 Denmark, Maine

to

Loren Newell
Born: 11/11/1840
Died: 12/20/1903

I have no info on the date of their marriage, but recent info that I have found tells me that their oldest son, Thomas Newell, was born on 3/10/1864 in Upton, Maine. So perhaps they married in 1863 or earlier?? Do you have any info??

I looked in the vital records and in Heywood's History of Upton, with no luck. I did find Thomas' birth record in the VR's. Check there for more info.

HEAWARD-BROOKS

= Hi I am seeking information on JAMES ADLOPHUS HEAWARD married WILMA BROOKS in Upton Maine 1 July 1905. Any info on either of these lines would be appericated Thanks Ella [email protected]

>Hi Ella,

It so happens that I have recently copied the Upton town archives so I can look up your request.  The marriage record for Heaward-Brooks can be found in the Vital Records pages of this website.

The 1900 U.S. Census lists Wilma Brooks, daughter of Joseph E. Brooks and Martha C. as age 14, born Feb. 1886.

Joseph Brooks is the brother of my great-great-grandmother, Lydia Brooks Richards.  If you link over to Lydia Brooks' diary, you will see that Joseph, his brother Wm. Henry, and my gggrandfather all served in the 30th Maine in the Civil War.

STEVENS

: I'm looking for information on Susan E. Stevens.  She was supposed to be "of Letter B" at the time of her marriage to Elbridge Poor in Andover in 1834.  Besides her birth/death dates, I would love to have information on her parents and siblings, if possible.  Thanks for your time, and

Cheers!

Katherine,

I have checked Heywood's History of Upton and census records.  I can find no mention of a family named Stevens.  Perhaps she lived with a family of a different name?Mark
