Mrs. Joseph Jackson, died at age 92 years on Monday at Auburn, Maine.
She was born in Minot, Maine and was one of the oldest persons in the county.
She was small in physical proportions but was a remarkably smart woman.
The local chronicler reports that in middle life Mrs. Jackson once lifted a full barrel
of cider, pressed it against a wall & took a draught out of the bung hole!

The house and ell owned and occupied by John Hall at Minot Corner, Maine were
Buried at 1 A.M. The cause was a defective chimney. The loss was $1500. The
Home was insured by the Home of New York for $1200.
John Ayer, home in Minot, Maine burned on Thursday. The cause was a defective chimney,
The stable was saved and the house was insured.
8 April 1880
The Farm building of John B. Perkins of Minot, Maine was burned to the ground.
Lost was a two story house with ell. The home was unoccupied and guessed to have been
the work of tramps.

H. M. Bryant died Monday at Park Street, Lewiston, Maine.
He was 41 years old on 21 March last. Mr. Bryant was a native of Center Harbor, NH.
He moved to Lewiston, Maine in June of 1871. He was in the insurance business.
Seven years ago last April he signed the temperance pledge and has ever since been
identified with temperance work. He aided in the organization of the Lewiston
Reform Club and also Mystic Lodge of Good Templars of Lewiston, Maine.
He left a wife and two daughters.
He was a Past Grand Councilor of Grand Lodge I.O.G.T. of Maine; member of
Industry Lodge K of P. and M & M Lodge of the Odd Fellows of Lewiston, Maine
