Washburn, Aroostook Co., Maine bounds on Woodland, Caribou, Presque Isle, Mapleton and Wade. Previous designation was 13R3 WELS, and Salmon Brook. Washburn was settled in 1826. Incorporated on 25 Feb 1861 as the 411th town in Maine. Principal settlements are Washburn and Crouseville.
