Danforth Half township 8R4 NBPP (East half) Washington) Danforth Washington Co. bounds: Bancroft, Weston, 9R4 NBPP, Forest, Brookton, 8R3 NBPP, 8R4 NBPP. Previous designations: Danforth tract plus part of 8R4 NBPP. Settled 1829. Incorporated 17 Mar 1860 as the 409th town.
Part of Weston annexed 4 March 1885and later part of Eaton annexed 15 Feb 1887.
First settled by Parker Tewksbury who came from Cornville in 1829, a few years later Eliphalet Morse, Nathaniel Schillinger and Jeremiah Schillinger from Poland, Joseph Webber of Clinton and Seth Stinchfield of Leeds also settled in Danforth, Maine.
