We are looking for the parents of Charles F. MOORE. From the 1880 census we know that both of his parents were born in Maryland but had migrated to North Carolina by 1798, the year in which Charles F. was born in Surry County, NC. We so appreciated your help.

Below are names I heard my father mention, his mother's being Nora HEARNE who married Ananias (I am uncertain of the spelling since I can find no online record of his existance) HASTINGS. Nora's middle name is purported to be Emily. Ananias was supposed to have served in DE legislature. My father's birth certificate said he was born in Whitesville, right on the border, on December 2, 1912. He said Nora Hearne was from MD, and that it was Hearne with an "e", not Irish. What do I know. See information below taken from the Hearne family history. I had always heard about an Uncle Ray and Aunt Lavinia. My father's parents were in their mid-forties when he was born. That would put their birthdates at ~1880. William N. Hearne married Lavinia Hearne. Lavinia Hearne [Parents] was born 12 Sep 1848 in Somerset Co, MD. She died before 1907. Lavinia married William N. Hearne. They had the following children: F i Nora Hearne. M ii Herbert W. Hearne. F iii Annie M. Hearne. M iv William Ray Hearne.

Anyone working on this VINCENT/VINSON line? Is the following George VINCENT a son of Benjamin VINCENT, who died c. 1820 and left children Thomas, Benjamin, George Samuel, Solomon, William, Thomas, Sarah, Betsy Ann, Nancy, and Mary? George Vincent, born circa 1790-1795, died 1837. George VINCENTs will (1837) mentions wife, Elizabeth, and "all my children". George VINCENT married Elizabeth DRISKELL (daughter of Aaron DRISKELL) in Worcester Co., MD on 15 Dec 1821. Elizabeth Vincent married Benjamin H. Gordy after Georges death. George and Elizabeth VINCENTs children later brought suit for their portion of George VINCENTs land. George VINCENT, p. 257 Worcester Co. 1830 Census: 1 male under 5 years of age, which would be James Joshua VINCENT b c 1826, died 13 Feb 1899. He was in Perry Co, AL for the 1860 census with brother David VINCENT and uncle Thomas Stanford DRISKELL. (There is yet another James Joshua VINCENT buried in Maryland!); 1 male 30-40: George VINCENT b. between 1790 1795, died c. 1837; 1 female under 5 (Maybe/maybe not, as she could have been born later): Sally Ann VINCENT, who married Thomas W. PHILLIPS. He and some children are buried in Salisbury Cemetery. Sally PHILLIPS was in (Plantersville) Dallas Co., Alabama in the 1870 census near brother Harvey B. VINCENT; 1 female 510: Mary Jane VINCENT, b 14 Jul 1824, d 21 Apr 1854, buried Salisbury Cem; 1 female 3040: Elizabeth Stanford Driskell Vincent who married 2nd Benjamin H. GORDY, b 1795, d 1868, buried Salisbury Cem. George VINCENT had deed from William HEARN, land belonging to Hanna HEARN called McClelland & Fletchers. ( Note: In George VINCENTs 1837 will, both William HEARN, who had willed McClelland and Fletchers to Hanna HEARN, and Hanna HEARN were deceased.)
