William WOODGATE "emigrated" to Somerset County in 1670. He arrived with Richard RAYMOND and his family. William WOODGATE paid Richard RAYMOND for his transportation, and claimed headrights for himself within one year of his arrival. I am seeking additional information on William WOODGATE and Richard RAYMOND, any possible family connections or a link to port of origin.

Looking for Ayers and Sally SMITH, parents of James SMITH, b. 1792 - 1794 in Somerset or Worcester County, MD. He left the area at approx. 18 years of age to settle in Lawrenceburg, Anderson Co., KY. He fought in the War of 1812, was taken prisoner at Fort Meigs, was released in Canada and walked back to KY. Married to Nancy RUCKER, Anna VAWTER. Are there any people reenacting War of 1812 who would have info on him also?

Searching for information on the STURGIS family of Somerset County, Maryland. Elizabeth STURGIS married Augustus JOHNSON on January 19, 1848 at Coventry Protestant Episcopal Church. Need information on parents of both these folks, if possible. Also interested in discovering baptism records of the above church, if they exist. Any help at all appreciated. Joseph ELLIS lived in Somerset Co., Md.and died there ca. 1787. His wife was named Esther, last name unknown. Oldest daughter married William MADDOX and moved to Greene Co., Ga.in the 1790s. Did Joseph have a son named Walter? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looking for information on James HUGGINS, b. ca 1685, and wife Ann, d. 14 Jan 1746 in Onslow Co. NC. In his will he gave land in MD to sons Charles HUGGINS and Benjamine HUGGINS. Also mentioned in the will is Ann HURLEY. His wife, Ann HUGGINS, made an identical will to that of her husband. Who was daughter Ann'S husband, father of Jacob HURLEY? In a Jones Co. NC deed book (1719 - 1774) it lists "Jacob HUGGINS, alias Husley" Any information on this line, or the location of the property would be appreciated. Thanks.

Seeking identity of 1st wife of John STERLING, b. 1668, married first c 1700 and had children John, Aaron, Mary, Hannah and Rachel. He married 2nd c 1722 to Mrs. Mary (Martin) Moore, widow of Thomas , and had Henry, Martha and Joseph. John died 1741 near Crisfield, Somerset Co.

Samuel WHEELER b. 1666 in Northampton Co., VA. He was probably s/o John, transported in 1654, and Alice, "servant", who was age 36 in a deposition in Accomac Co., VA in 1672. Samuel had an older brother, John (1658-1709), of Accomac and Sussex Co., DE. Samuel settled Annamassex 100, in Somerest Co., in the early 1690's. He had 2 sons: 1) John (c.1709 - c.1750) mar. 1)______ c. 1730 , had dau. Rebecca mar. Potter LORD 1751; mar. 2) Hannah (STERLING) WARD, a widow c. 1742 2) Jonathan (c. 1712 - aft 1753) mar. Jemima _______. All Wheelers in Somerset and Worcester after 1745 are descended from Samuel through his sons John and Jonathan.
