Somerset County MDGenWeb Nicholas Fountain of Somerset County Will Written 13 Apr 1708, Proved 1 Oct 1708

I Nicholas Fountain of Somerset Co., Maryland, on April 13, 1708, leave unto my son Marcy 100 acres of land called "New France", and after his decease to his son William to him and his heirs forever, and this 100 acres shall stand in lieu and defray all debts against my estate.

I leave unto my sons Nicholas and Stephen a tract of land called "Fountain's Lott" containing 300 acres of land to their heirs foreever, to be equally divided between them, also a tract of land joining unto it called "Normandy", containing 50 acres to be divided between them: Also 10 acres of land formerly alliened unto me by Capt. Henry Smith out of a tract called "Peake", and if they die before they come of age then the others enjoy it; Also a tract of land called "Rumley" containing 150 acres; Also two heifers: Sons to be of age at 16 years.

I leave my wife Joanna my dwelling house and plantation during her widowhood, and if she marry one third of other goods and movable and other two thirds to sons, Marcy, Nicholas, Stephen and daughter Dennis Lane.
