The USGENWEB has several projects underway that are in need of volunteers. Two of these are the Tombstone Transcription Project and the Census Project. Volunteers are needed to record tombstone inscriptions and transcribe census records which will then be made available on line through the USGENWEB Archives. At this time Charles County is woefully lacking in this area. As one of Maryland's original counties it is important to many researchers across the country that these records be preserved and made available on line free of charge. To volunteer just follow one of the links in the text above and you will find the information on the respective pages. |
