Instead of her & her family going on the veil of tears he married her & took her & her family with them & settled in Maryland. MORNINGSTAR had a daughter which was named Amanda BENNETT. She married William ALLEN which are our grandparents. Our father, Charles E. ALLEN was born in Cumberland, MD in 1912.

Eli married Selina Porter, b. 10/13/1833, d. 10/13/1864. Have found three of his children but I believe he had five. His known children were Louis b. ?, Isaac Eugene, b. 9/11/1858, d. 8/12/1944, Katie, b. 1/31/1863, d. 11/12/1864, All family lived in and around Taylorsville and Winefield area and were farmers. Some family members are buried at Taylorsville Methodist Church.
