Mark WilkinsonWed, 24 Feb 1999 22:11:53 -0800 My great great grandfather Gershom Bryan HUFF (HOFF) was born in MD or PA and I know his children were born in Westminster my problem is he was born in 1827/1828 and Westminster was not part of Carroll Co. then. Do you know what Co. it was at that time. Also his first 4 children were baptized in the St.John's Lutheran Church in Littlestown,PA I think maybe they traveled back and forth or maybe they were unsure were to list as their birth places. Anyway any help I can get I would appreciate greatly. This is what I know : Gershom Bryan Huff b.June 1828 in PA or MD probably to John Hoff Married to Matilda (Willida) Fisher-Huff b.December 1824 in PA There children were John Jacob (bap.1 July 1849 PA) Martha Ellen (bap. 29 May 1852 PA) Jerome Phillip (bap. 1 November 1854 PA) William Logan (bap. 10 May 1856 PA) All four baptized at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church ,Littlestown,PA Edward F. b. August 1860 MD Elizabeth B. b.May 1862 MD The last two were definetly born in MD Gershom was likely related to other Huff/Hoff families who lived right on the PA MD border such as Nicodemus, Michael and Charles.
