ELLEDGE

Cynthia Snider Fri, 20 Aug 1999 19:29:14 -0400 I have records showing that Josephus ELLEDGE lived his last years in Maryland in Carroll County which was cut off of Baltimore. There is an article in a Carroll County publication that tells about the road to Connewego, PA began at Josephus Elledges. How can I find out if there are any additional records left by Joseph or Josephus Elledge in Carroll County. I am writing a book about the Elledges who would have been in Carroll County in the 1740-66 time frame. Would appreciate any help on Elledges. I am hoping that one of the females of that family would show up in the marriage records of some Baptist Church there. They were all Baptists and many of the Elledges were preachers. BAUCOM

sandra Tue, 17 Aug 1999 12:29:47 -0700 I am looking for information on Nicholas BAUCOM. His first appearance in any records (that has been found to date) is at the birth of his son: St. George's Parish Records, pg. 233: John Baucham, son of Nicholas and Mary, born 1 July 1725. He is listed in several land books in Baltimore Co., MD., with variouse spelllings of his name: Baucom, Baucham, Bauken, Baulkam. The last intry for Nicholas is 30 Nov 1739, when he sold land called "Tripleunion" to Jacob Giles. ("Tripleunion was located in Baltimore Co., in an area that became Harford Co. 1773 and St. George's Parish.) The land was bought by Nicholas Baucom 1 June 1733 from Samuel Hughes. These records are the first we find for Nicholas. Does any one know of any records prior to this time, or have any further information on this person in this area? Thank you, Sandra contact me at [email protected]
