Texas Death Index 1903-1940

This information was transcribed from the original data collected by the State of Texas. The certificate numbers are from the State and the county will not have that number if you request a copy from the county.  The death index data was collected starting in 1903.  The first set was compiled with data from 1903-1940, then 1941-1945, then 1946-1955 and year by year thereafter.  We will be adding the other set very soon.

I have tried to keep the surnames spelled as they were found in the records as are the given names.  The county is the county is which the death was said to have occurred.  As to the date, well in some instances it may not be the exact date of death as some of these dates do not coincide with other documents that I have seen but if you want to be certain, order the certificate from the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Austin, Texas.
