The Upton Historical Society was formed in 1968 as a private nonprofit organization incorporated under Massachusetts G.L. Ch 180 and is funded by member's dues and donations.
The mission statement of the Society is to care for, collect and preserve an extensive collection of historical records, artifacts, pictures and mementos donated by those who realize the importance of preserving Upton's heritage.
We welcome visitors and inquiries about Upton's history. New members are continually sought to participate in all activities. The Society members created and maintain this website and a Facebook page. Members have published a reprint of one book of Upton history and published a second book in it's entirety. They are continually expanding the the collection database to provide improved access to material for research and digitizing more and more of the important documents of the collection. Bring your interests and skills and join the staff!
Have you attended the Heritage Day Fair held each fall in the town common? The fair is organized and coordinated by staff of the Society and specifically the craft vendor and organization booths on the town common. This is another opportunity to apply your skills and interests.
The Society also publishes a quarterly newsletter, see the link at the top of the page, and presents programs of interest from September to April.
