Died on the 27th of February, at his residence in this county, Maj. John Reynolds, in the 74th year of his age.
Maj. Reynolds was one of the few remaining pioneers of the West. Having participated in many of the hardships and trying scenes of its settlement, he had resided in the Valley of Kanawha for more than 40 years. To his bereaved and afflicted family, especially to his aged and amiable consort, his loss will be long felt and most deeply deplored.
