The Jeffersonian
March 13, 1841
A female child, nearly five years old and daughter of a Mr. Stigall, was burned to death on Wednesday last, by its clothes taking fire whilst standing near the furnace of Mr. Bream, in whose employment was her father. It appears that the little sufferer was, for a short time left alone. Here we are called upon, again, to remind parents of the ever, constant and increasing watch that is absolutely necessary to guard their offspring from a premature and miserable end, and themselves from intolerable and neverending wretchedness of mind through life.
