Husband's General Notes
This is the John Hacker who fought in the Revolutionary War with George Rogers Clark. He was the 1st settler on Hacker's Creek in what is now Lewis Co, WV "where he raised a large family." The list of children came from CD #520 from the book 'West Virginians in the American Revolution' by Ross B. Johnston. (A copy of the book is also at the WV State Library & Archives at Charleston, WV)
There is also a group, The Hacker's Creek Pioneer Descendents, Inc. probably located in Lewis Co, WV which publishes " Hacker's Creek Journal".
The last name "Hacker" appears on the 1850 VA census index only in the counties of Lewis and Gilmer in what is now WV.
