Wooden Water Main - A cross section
of an old time water main similar to the wooden pipes that once ran
underneath Stoneham's streets. The phrase "Plug the line!" was used
by firemen when closing up the hole that was drilled into the top of
the main when water was needed for putting out a fire. |

Parade and Cast Photos from "The Pageant of
Stoneham": In the summer of 1925, the citizens of
Stoneham celebrated the 200th
Anniversary of the Town by participating in a three day event that
included a parade and pageant depicting the history of the
Town. The Pageant program book and photo albums of the event
tell the story of this grand celebration. |
