Houses
Stoneham still has, at the present time, houses that date from the early years of its establishment in 1725. There are also, in this town, other examples of the various types of architecture up through the 1900's. If you've ever wondered how to date these houses, this chart is a handy way to make discoveries, perhaps right in your own neighborhood. By educating ourselves to the examples still to be seen, we are better able to be informed as to the value of saving buildings that might otherwise be demolished. When that happens, a part of our heritage is lost and can never be recovered.
