Slain Girl Taught With Former Maynard Teacher |
MAYNARDA local note of interest concerning last week's slaying of 23 year old Beverly Samans in her Cambridge apartment is that the B.U. graduate student had been doing musical therapy work at the Walter F. Fernald School in Waltham where the principal is Lawrence Gomes, former special class teacher at Maynard's Green Meadow School.
When questioned by reporters as to Miss Samans, Gomes said that she was an excellent teacher and a very conscientious worker. Gomes also said that the children were disheartened when they learned of her sudden death and they would miss her.
Gomes taught at the Green Meadow School until 1960 when he resigned to take the administrative position at the Fernald School. |
