Turns Up in California
   LAWRENCE, (UPI) — A former Essex County commissioner, whose mystifying comings and goings have baffled authorities for almost a year, has turned up again — this time in California.
   Lawrence Police Chief Charles L. Hart reported Monday that John R. Ahern, 33, was found working for a food machinery and general chemical firm in San Jose, Calif., under the assumed name of Ernest C. Strout.
   Hart said proceedings were underway to obtain support from Ahern for his wife and six children.

   The Italian-American War Veterans Auxiliary will hold a barn dance at its headquarters at 40 Oakland st. Friday night. Chairman of the committee is Mrs. Frank DeMayo assisted by Mrs. Michael Alconi, Mrs. Frank Picardi, Mrs. Sarie Picardi, Mrs. John Rumore, Mrs. James Randazzo and Pres. Celia Picardi.

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Mary Ahearn Kelleher, 112 Summer st., from the Daniel F. O'Brien Funeral Home, with solemn high mass of requiem in St. Catherine's church. Mrs. Kelleher died last Sunday at 81, following a long illness. A Somerville resident for 30 years, she was born in Ireland. Survivors include her husband, John Kelleher; three sons, Thomas W., of Somerville, Frank J., of Arlington and John J., of Watertown; four daughters, Mrs. Helen [Cabra?] and Mrs. Mrs. Julia Tennison, of Somerville, Mrs. Mary Morse, of Keene, N. H., and Mrs. Margaret Brown, of Burlington; five sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Lyons, of Roxbury, Miss Margaret and Miss Julia Ahearn, of Boston, and Miss Stacia [Anastatia?] and Miss [Norah?] Ahearn, of Ireland; two brothers, John of Jamaica Plain, and Michael Ahearn of Ireland; and 16 grandchildren. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
