Cap Pistol Fired Into Acton Child's Ear
ACTON—An Acton youngster escaped serious injury when a cap pistol was fired in his ear by another child in West Acton last Wednesday, August 14.
Roger Feltus, 9, the son of Mrs. Francis Feltus Priest; 160-A Central Street and his brother, John, 7, went to West Acton Center about 2:30 in the afternoon to get a pane of glass for their mother. According to Mrs. Priest, they noticed a gang of boys on Central Street. They went around the other way to Windsor Avenue and were surrounded by the same group of boys who had cut over there. Roger stated that he and his brother were pushed and mauled by the group of approximately eight boys.
Shortly after, most of the boys scattered. However, Roger was retained a captive of by two of the boys. He stated that an older boy, junior in high school, held his hands while a youngster 10 years of age fired a cap pistol in his ear.
The two boys let him go and he called the police. He was later taken to a Concord doctor who, according to Mrs. Priest “was amazed that the ear drum had not been seriously injured”
