Joseph Cartmel Dies
After 70-Day Coma
   Joseph D. Cartmel, 42, of 419 Summer st., who was struck by a train Oct. 21, died Tuesday night at the Roslindale General Hospital.
   His death ended a 70-odd day vigil by his family, and doctors and nurses of three separate hospitals.
   Cartmel never regained consciousness after the crash at the Ryder st. crossing.
   He was first taken to Symmes, then to the Massachusetts General, and finally to the Roslindale General.
   Private services will be held tomorrow.

   A FOURTH SON was born to Selectman and Mrs. Joseph P. Greeley at Symmes Hospital Wednesday morning.
Man Hurt At Fire
   A Mystic Valley Gas Company employee was rushed to Symmes Hospital with first degree burns about the face and hands Saturday, when a single story frame house at 47 Woodside Lane caught fire.
   Floyd Netzer was among men attempting to unfreeze as gas line leading into the house. A spark ignited leaking gas and Netzer was burned.
   The outside of the building caught fire.
   After firemen extinguished the blaze, officials estimated damage to be about $500.

   RESIGNATION of Town Meeting Member Elizabeth A. Mahoney, formerly of 260 Broadway has been received. Now married, she is living in Washington, D. C.
