SOLEMN HIGH MASS FOR
MRS. MICHAEL O'HEARN

   The funeral of Mrs. Catherine M. (Tarbett) O'Hearn, 56 Rockingham ave., who passed away Thursday after a long illness, was held yesterday at 9:15 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Prosper DePauw of 140 Granite st., Maplewood, followed by a solemn high mass of requiem at St. Joseph's church at ten o'clock. Rev. Anthony I. Ecker, S. J. of Holy Trinity church, Boston, was celebrant, with Rev. John J. Keohane as deacon and Rev. Charles F. Glennon as sub-deacon.
   The church was filled with relatives and friends and there was a profusion of floral tributes and spiritual bouquets.
   Interment was in the family lot at Holy Cross cemetery, with Rev. Ecker in charge of the committal service.
   The deceased had been a resident of Malden for a dozen years, coming here from East Boston. She had been confined to her bed since October. A native of Salmonier, Newfoundland, Mrs. O'Hearn came to Boston when a young girl, and had lived there until coming to Malden in 1941. She was a member of St. Joseph's church and Court Maplewood, Catholic Daughters. He [sic] later conducted a ritual service Friday evening at the home of Mrs. DePauw,
   Besides her husband, Michael J. O'Hearn, the deceased is survived by two sons, Corp. Joseph M. O'Hearn, who is serving with the Army in Korea, and Seaman First Class Francis G. O'Hearn, who is in the Coast Guard and stationed at Bainbridge, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Prosper (Mary) DePauw, 140 Granite st., Mrs. Raymond (Theresa) Christiansen [sic] of Love's Park, Ill., and Miss Ann Marie O'Hearn, at home. Mrs. O'Hearn also leaves a brother and sister in Newfoundland, John Tarbett of Salmonier, and Mrs. Mary Collins of Placentia. There are two grandchildren.
