FORMER BASEBALL PLAYER PASSED AWAY
Charles C. Doherty, age 39 years, the son of the late Anthony A. and [Josephine] Carroll Doherty, passed away yesterday after a short illness. Mr. Doherty was born in Woburn 39 years ago and attended Woburn public schools. He was a star baseball player twenty-five years ago, playing both professional and semi-professional ball at first base.

The deceased is survived by three sisters, Mrs. G. Hanson Foster of Woburn, Mrs. Edward D. Welch of Boston and Miss Margaret Doherty of this city, and two brothers, Ex-Ald. Edward A. Doherty and Joseph Doherty of the local police department.

The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 8:15 a.m. from the home of the sister of the deceased, Mrs. G. Hanson Foster, 134 Cambridge Road, this city. High Mass of Requiem will be celebrated at St. Charles Church at 9:00 a.m. which will be followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.
