The Lowell Sun, 23 January 1892
Exhibition of the Phonograph
Under the auspices of St. Peter's Temperance society, a very enjoyable entertainment was given last Sunday evening by Professor Gladden. It consisted of an exhibition of that wonderful invention, the phonograph, and of the reproduction thereby of songs, cornet solos by the best artists, lively selections by the best bands in New York, comic dialogues and conversations, all of which were heard by a good sized audience in the fair hall.
