The Arlington Advocate, 25 April 1884

POLICE COURT
Michael Lane paid $3 and costs in court this week for assault and battery. His wife was arrested for rum selling, but although a credible witness testified to repeated purchases, Judge Orcutt discharged her because she and her husband swore that they had not sold any. We wonder that there are not more punishments for contempt of court.
