The Arlington Advocate, 28 July 1877

POLICE COURT
It will be remembered that on the 30th of June, the police officers in Arlington visited the house of Michael Lynch, [sic] and seized two barrels partially filled with ale, and jugs and bottles containing other liquors. The hearing in the case was fixed for July 21, but owing to the sickness of the defendant, it was adjourned to the 23rd. After hearing the evidence (the defence not appearing), Judge Carter ordered the liquors to be turned over to the chief of the State Detectives, Luther L. Stephenson.
