    Divine Service will be performed at Capt. Simon Hosmer's, in Acton, on Sunday the 30th of the current month, by Benjamin Whitman, a preacher of the Universal Salvation.

    In Littleton, Capt. George Newell of Boston, to Miss Sophia Reed.
    Near Louisville, Ken. Brig. Gen. Thomas S. Jesup, Quarter Master General of the army of the U. S. to Miss Croghan, daughter of Major C.

SHERIFF'S SALES
Middlesex ss. May 13, 1822    
Taken on execution and to be sold at public auction, on Saturday the twenty ninth day of June next, at four o'clock, P.M. at the store of A. Whitcomb & Co. in Shirley
ALL the right which Moses Collens hath in equity to redeem the real estate on which he now lives, situated in the south part of Shirley, in said county.

    The Charlestown City Gazette says that a meeting between Mr. M'Duffie and Col. Cummings took place on the 7th inst.—The result has not been announced.

DIED
    In Bellows Falls, Vt. Capt. Benjamin Williams, aged 79.
    On the night of the 24th ult. Col. James Overstreet, a representative to Congress from South Carolina. He was returning from Washington City to his residence in Barnwell District, S.C.
    In Livingstone, N.Y. Col. John McKinatery, aged 80. He was one of the heroes of the Revolution, and in one of the conflicts for Independence, received a ball in his body, which he carried to his grave.
    In Charleston, (S.C.) capt. Wm. Robert E. Boyd formerly of Weston.
    On Edisto island, after a short illness, Mr. Edward Goodwin, aged 25, a native of Charlestown, Mass. lately of Charleston, S.C.
    In Charlestown, Mrs. Hepsey Jeffers, aged 73 years.
    In Andover, Widow Hannah Osgood, and Miss Emily Stevens.
    In Salem, Miss Lydia King, aged 65 ; Mr. Thomas Haines, 40.
    In this town [Concord], on Saturday morning last, Mr. Joseph Whiting, aged 21.

The Middlesex Observer, 29 June 1822

    A child of Mr. Elias Parshall, living in one of the western counties of Pennsylvania, set fire to 22 pounds of gunpowder, that was in the house. The child, goods, and house were destroyed. The family were dining on the porch at the time, and escaped.

DIED
    In Worcester, Mr. Enos Tucker, aged 55.
    In this town [Concord], on the 25th inst. of a short but severe illness which she bore with calmness and resignation, Mrs. Elizabeth Heyward, in the 61st year of her age. In the death of this worthy woman her famiuly have suffered an irreparable losss. There are few persons who have performed with so much fidelity and success the several duties of their situation. To her virtues as a wife, a parent, and a neighbour, the tears of her afflicted family, and the mourning sympathy of all her acquaintance, are the most honorable testimony.
    In this town, on Thursday evening, Mr. Jonas Brown, aged 34. Funeral this afternoon at three o'clock.
    N. B. The members of the Light Infantry Company are requested to meet at Mr. Darrah's hotel precisely at 12 o'clock, for the purpose of attending the funeral of their late worthy member. By request of the captain,

Notice.
THE Citizens of Chelmsford, will celebrate
the fourth of July, by a public dinner and military parade. An oration will be delivered by the Rev. Mr. Alllen, in the Meeting House, in the middle of the town.— Refreshments provided by Mr. Willard Reed, Accomodations for the Ladies at 50 cents.—Tickets at $1, may be had of Mr. Reed for the dinner—"whosoever will let him come."

ON Thursday the fourth day of July next, at two o'clock in the afternoon, at Mr. Thompson's tavern, in Concord:—Bureaus, Candlestands, Work Tables, Cradles—a quantity of Mahogany—the tools of a Cabinet Maker, comprising Turning Tools, Saws of various kinds, Jointers, Planes, Chisels, Creasing Tools, Paints, Varnish, &c &c, the estate of Jonathan Hosmer, deceased. Also, his wearing apparel.
