Raymond, Madeleine and their two sons arrived in Canada during or before the summer of 1648 coming from Quercy, in the old province of Guyenne, in the south-west of France.
Raymond Pag of Quercy was a carpenter by trade. In the 1666 census, the family was living on the coast of Beaupre and Raymond was listed as being 62 years old. In the 1667 census he had nine cattle and fourteen arpents (about 20 acres) under cultivation. In the 1681census, Raymond was listed as being 68 years old and it was just he and Madeleine living in the house at this point.
The Pag family lived in Qubec City, Chteau Richer and at l'Ange Gardien. Raymond and Madeleine received land from Olivier LeTardif located between Qubec and Cap Rouge. It was two arpents by eight and was close to the property of LeTardif. In 1656, they were on the coast of Sainte-Genevive on the farm of Nicolas Marsolet dit Saint-Aignan. In 1664, Guillemette Hebert, widow of Guillaume Couillard, deeded land to them in the parish of l'Ange Gardien.
At the request of the bishop of Qubec, 22 inhabitants "the most notable" met on 18 Oct. 1664 to elect three marguilliers (churchwardens) for the parish of l'Ange Gardien. Raymond Pag, with Jacques Goulet and Pierre Maheu dit Hasards accepted the position of Churchwarden.
