Elizabeth Ann was listed, age 26, daughter Elizabeth Rachel, age 5, daughter Ann, age 2, son William age 5 mos. as well as his father James Isherwood, age 55, Chain maker, his mother Ann Isherwood, age 53, his brother George, age 15, cotton doffer, sister Alice, age 11, brother John, age 21, cotton striper, and his uncle John Spencer, age 81. All were born in Manchester. (1)
James was listed in the 1881 census for 35 Marcer St., Manchester, age 45, labourer as well as Elizabeth A., age 45, William, their son, age 13, Martha M., daughter, age 11, and their daughter Mary A., age 9. All were born in Manchester. (2)
