    Richard was with his brother Michael at the Isles of Shoals in 1650 where he bought a house in 1661. In 1660 he was a fishing partner with Stephen Ford and from 1665 on he sold his fish to Mr. Jonathan Wade, his account not being settled until 1682. From 1679 until 1681 he fished for Roger Kelly.

    On 14 Oct. 1665 he bought at Spruce Creek on the South side of Goose Cove from Francis Morgan and from that time he kept his family ashore. Richard and his wife are buried there.

    In 1667 Richard administered the estates of Bartholomew Priest and Christopher Monke. He was also the administrator to his son Richard in 1694.
