Taber, Alberta, Canada

Taber, Alberta, population 7,600, situated in the southern part of the province, was established in the late 1890's as a coal-mining town. After mining declined, the development of irrigation led to the successful production of sugar beets, and today, the main industry is the sugar processing plant.
