     Thomas Butler was baptized on 22 November 1818 at St Peter Collegiate Church, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.1,2 He was the son of James Butler and Sarah Lear.1 Thomas Butler married Jane Bigford on 9 November 1837 at St Peter Collegiate Church, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England; and their marriage was recorded at Wolverhampton Registration district in the December quarter 1837. They were both 19 years of age. He was son of James Butler and she was the daughter of John Bigford.3,4 Thomas Butler appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at Gravely Hill, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, as Head, married, age 32, birthplace Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, and he was a Brass Cabinet Lock Maker. His wife, six children and a sevant/Lock Maker (Ap) completed the household.5 He appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at 46 Merridale Street, Merridale, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, as Thomas Buttler, Head, widower, age 42, birthplace Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, and he was a Cabinet Lock Smith.      George Philbrook was born in 1837 at Woodham Walter, Essex, England.1 He was the son of John Philbrick and Ann Glasscock.1 George Philbrook appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at Street, Woodham Walter, Essex, England, as age 4 and he was born in the county.2 He appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at Sydenham, Kent, England, as Son, unmarried, age 22, birthplace Woodham Walter, Essex, and he was a Turncock.3 He married Jane Kilby on 7 June 1863 at All Saints with St Margaret, Upper Norwood, Lewisham, Surrey, England; and their marriage was recorded at Croydon Registration district in the June quarter 1863. They were married after Banns were read and they were both of Full Age and were from Norwood. She was a Spinster and daughter of Thomas Kilby and he was a Bachelor, Engine Driver, son of John Philbrook.4,5,6 George Philbrook 'travelled from London to Russia to work on gas supply lines.7' He married Clara Bremeyer on 17 April 1887 at St Michael, Camberley, Surrey, England; and Clara Burnell was a widow of 30 years (her son William Burnell born c 1885 lived with the family in 1901 and 1911). Their marriage was recorded at Farnham Registration district in the June quarter 1887. He was a 49 year old widower, Gas Fitter, son of John Philbrook and she was the daughter of Robert Bremeyer, Builder, and both were of Yorktown.8,9,5 George Philbrook appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at Windlesham, Surrey, England, as Head, married, age 33, birthplace Woodham Walter, Essex, and he was employed as a Gas and Hot Water Fitter. His second wife Clara, children Thomas, Lydia and Mary G. Philbrook and stepsons Edward C. and William Burnell completed the household.10,11 He was listed as a Wardrobe Dealer in Kelly's London Suburban Directory, 1901. [Vol. I: Northern. His greatgranddaughter writes: 'Clara and George used to run the wardrobe shop at the Empress Theatre in Earls Court in London.12,13' He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 543 Kings Road, Fulham, London, England, as Head, married, age 63, birthplace Maldon, Essex, and he worked on his own account at home as a Wardrobe Dealer.8 He was given as an Engine Driver on his daughter Lydia's marriage certificate on 21 August 1910.14 He appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 566 Kings Road, Fulham, London, England, as Head, married, age 75, birthplace Woodham Walter, Essex, and he was a Stationary Engineman in a Laundry. Of the 8 children born alive, 5 were still living. He was living with his Wife, Clara, William Burnell, Boarder and Hairdresser- Shopkeeper, and children: May, Arthur, Florence and Ethel.15 He appeared on the census of 19 June 1921 at Fulham, London, England, as born at Essex, England, in 1838.16 He died in 1922 at London, England; and his death was recorded at Fulham Registration district in the September quarter 1922.17

NOTICE is hereby given, that all creditors and other persons having any claims or demands against the estate of Frederick Isaac Jones, deceased, late of 199, Maida Vale, in the county of London (a partner in the firm of Boxall and Boxall, Solicitors, of 22, Chancery-lane, London) (who died on the 22nd day of July, 1910, and whose will was proved on the 22nd day of August, 1910, by Dr. Isaiah Henry Jones, the executor therein named), are required to send particulars in writing of their claims or demands to us, the undersigned, Solicitors for the executor, on or before the 30th day of January, 1911, after which date the executor will proceed to distribute the assets of the said deceased amongst the persons entitled thereto, having regard only to the claims and demands of which he shall then have had notice.—Dated this 22nd day of December, 1910. He lived between 1911 and 1939 at 199 Maida Vale, Paddington, London, England.18,19 He appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 199 Maida Vale, Paddington, London, England, as Head, age 51, single, birthplace Paddington, and he was a Surgeon.20 He was listed as Surgeon in The Post Office London Directory, 1914 at 62 Church Street, St Marylebone, N.W., situated next to the Baptist Chapel, and at 199 Elgin Avenue, Maida Vale.21

He was listed at 199 Elgin Avenue, Maida Vale, Paddington, in the Post Office London Directory, 1915 as 'Jones Isaiah Henry, surgeon' between 1915 and 1940.22,23

He appeared on the census of 19 June 1921 at Paddington, London, England, as born at Paddington, London, in 1860.24 He was listed with others in the Bayswater Synagogue 1863-1938 Origin and History as follows:

He was executor of his brother and The 1938 National Probate Calendar records: 'Jones Henry Arthur of 6 Garlinge-road Hampstead Middlesex died 8 January 1938 at the Hospital of St. John and St. Elizabeth Marylebone Probate London 24 February 1938 to Isaiah Henry Jones M.R.C.S. Charles Joseph Jones optician and Rosa May Cohen (Wife of Bertram Cohen)'.14

He lived on 29 September 1939 at 199 Maida Vale, Paddington, London, England; where he was on the 1939 Register as a Retired Surgeon, with four siblings and four staff, including a Cook and a Male Nurse.8 He died on 26 December 1941 at age 81; '6 Teveth 5702' and his death was recorded in the December quarter 1941 at Hendon Registration district. A notice was published in The Jewish Chronicle on 2 January 1942 and his address was 199 Maida Vale, London.25,1,4,26,3

He was the subject of an obituary in The Times: 'Jones - On Friday, Dec 26, 1941, at 4 Talbot Crescent, Hendon, NW4, Isaiah Henry Jones, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., L.S.A., of 199 Maida Vale, eldest son of the late Edward A. and Rosa Jones, aged 81. Funeral will take place at 11.30 am on Monday, Dec 29, at Willesden Cemetery, Pound Lane. Prayers at Talbot Crescent at 6 pm.' on 27 December 1941.27 He was buried on 29 December 1941 at Willesden Cemetery, Willesden, Middlesex, England; and a notice in The Times of 27 December 1941 said he died at 4 Talbot Crescent, Hendon, NW4, the funeral would be at 11.30 a.m. with prayers at Talbot Crescent at 6.00 p.m.5
