She was age 42 and
a Chemist's Assistant Dispencer (Part Time), when he was age 41 and a Pointsmen L P T B.² Lucy Whinnett died before 4 May 1955 at London, England; and her death was recorded at Camberwell Registration district in the June quarter 1955.^6,7 She was buried on 4 May 1955 at Lambeth, London, England.⁶

     William Whinnett was born in 1901 at Battersea, London, England; and his birth was recorded at Wandsworth Registration district in the March quarter 1901.^1,2 He was the son of Arthur Whinnett and Clara Jane Philbrook.¹ William Whinnett appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 13 Trollope Street, Battersea, London, England, as Son, age 2 months, birthplace Battersea, London.¹ He died in 1901 at London, England; and his death was recorded at Wandsworth Registration district in the December quarter 1901.³

     John Whinnett was born on 20 September 1903 at Surrey, England; and his birth was recorded at Kingston Registration district in the December quarter 1903.^1,2,3 He was the son of Arthur Whinnett and Clara Jane Philbrook.¹ John Whinnett appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 4 Kohat Road, Wimbledon, Surrey, England, as Son, age 7, birthplace Wimbledon, Surrey, and he was at School.¹ He was executor to his Father and the 1939 National Probate Calendar records his Father was 'of Radmer Crofton-lane Orpington Kent' and died 'at Farnborough Hospital Farnborough Kent'. Probate was granted in London to 'Arthur Whinnett civil servant and John Whinnett draughtsman' on 17 January 1939.⁴ He died in 1991 at Sussex, England; and his death was recorded at Eastbourne Registration district in February 1991.³

He was recorded as Silvery George Green, a 31 year old Bachelor, Soldier, son of Robert Green. She was a 28 year old Spinster, daughter of Arthur Whinnett, Civil Servant. He was a 35 year old Bachelor, Coachman, son of Thomas Hills, Coachman. She was a 32 year old Spinster, Nurse, daughter of William Davey, Night Watchman S.W.R.      Frederick Harlold Chandler was baptized on 10 November 1889 at Holy Trinity, West End, Chobham, Surrey, England.¹ He was the son of John Chandler and Elizabeth Hone.¹ Frederick Harlold Chandler died before 10 June 1890 at Surrey, England; and his death was recorded at Chertsey registration office in the June quarter 1890.^2,3 He was buried on 10 June 1890 at Holy Trinity, West End, Chobham, Surrey, England.³

His wife and four children completed the household.¹⁵ He appeared on the census of 1940 at Elmwood Park, Cook, Illinois, United States of America, as Geo Barrow, Head, married, age 50, birthplace England and he was a Contract Painter. The Alberta Genealogical Society website provides the following information:

'Under the Dominion Lands Act, once Crown land had been surveyed and officially declared available for settlement, individuals could apply to homestead a quarter section (160 acres) of their choice. Then, after paying a $10 filing fee and 'proving up' their homestead claim (occupying the land for at least three years and performing certain improvements, including building a house and barn, fencing, breaking and cropping a portion of the land), the homesteader could apply for patent (title) to the land.

Dominion Lands Branch in Ottawa managed the homesteading process, although business was conducted at local land agency offices throughout the Province. When each quarter section was homesteaded for the first time it was given a file number and all documents relating to that quarter were placed on file until the land patent was granted.

Control of natural resources was transferred to the provinces in 1930 and records of active transactions were turned over to the Province. Documents related to patented lands, abandoned claims and other dormant records were also transferred to the Province in 1956. These records were microfilmed and the originals destroyed. The resulting 686 microfilm reels were transferred to the PAA and are found in Accession 1970.313. It is this collection that has been indexed by Alberta Genealogical Society volunteers.
