     Alfred Skeen was born circa 1818 at London, Middlesex, England.¹ He was baptized on 1 January 1820 at St Dunstan and All Saints, Tower Hamlets, London, England; and his parents were George William and Catherine Skeen, and George William was a Mahogany Broker.² He appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at Seven Stars, Foots Cray, Kent, England, as Visitor, age 45, unmarried, birthplace London, Middlesex, and he was a Mahogany and Timber Manufacturer? and Valuer.³ He married Frances Mary Dorman, daughter of Richard Dorman and Ann Philbrook, in 1868 at England; and their marriage was recorded at West Ham Registration district in the June quarter 1868.¹ Alfred Skeen appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at 2 Rose Terrace, West Ham, Essex, England, as Head, married, age 56, birthplace London, Middlesex, and he was a Mahogany Merchant (Wood).⁴ He died in 1896 at Kent, England; and his death was recorded at Dartford Registration district the September quarter 1896.⁵

     Alfred Edward Skeen was born in 1869 at Stratford, Essex, England; and his birth was recorded at West Ham Registration district in the December quarter 1869.¹ He was the son of Alfred Skeen and Frances Mary Dorman.¹ Alfred Edward Skeen appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at 2 Rose Terrace, West Ham, Essex, England, as Son, age 1, birthplace Stratford, Essex.² He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 5 Abbey Road, Bexley, Kent, England, as Boarder, single, age 32, birthplace Stratford, Essex, and he worked as a Metal Labourer?³ He appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 7 Oaklands Road, Bexleyheath, Kent, England, as Head, single, age 41, birthplace Stratford, Essex, and he worked as a Florist at a Nursery, living alone.⁴ He died in 1925 at Kent, England; and his death was recorded at Dartford Registration district the December quarter 1925.⁵
