Thomas Waltham was born circa 1818 at Lambeth, Surrey, England.1,2 He married Caroline Street in 1842 at Marylebone, London, England; and their marriage was registered in the March quarter 1842 at Marylebone Registration district.They had at least seven children: Henry, Mary Ann, Harriet Sarah, Henry, Ellen, Elizabeth Sarah and Emma Caroline.3 Thomas Waltham was a Tailor between 1852 and 5 April 1891.1,2 He was listed in the 'Post Office London Directory (Small Edition), 1852' as follows:
