Their marriage was recorded at York Registration district in the March quarter 1852.4,5 William Philbrick appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at Willow Walk, Sydenham, Kent, England, as Head, married, age 31, birthplace Woodham Walter, Essex, and he was a Carpenter.7 As of before 2 April 1871, William Philbrick was also known as Walter William Philbrook.8 He appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at 8 Bridge Street, Warwick, Warwickshire, England, as 'Walter William Philbrook', Head, married, age 40. birthplace Wiltham, Essex, and he was a Rustic Worker.9 He died before 28 April 1873 at Warwickshire, England; and his death was recorded as Walter William Philbrook at Warwick Registration district in the June quarter 1873.10,11 He was buried on 28 April 1873 at St Nicholas, Warwickshire, England; and the Burials Register records his abode was Emscote Road, age 46.12

Adele Mollie O'Rourke was also known as Adela Mary.3,4 Adele Mollie O'Rourke was also known as Mollie Adele.2 Her married name was Lady Cusack-Smith.1,2 She was born in 1907 at Portobello, Dublin, Co Dublin, Ireland; and she was born Mary Adele O'Rorke.5,2,1,6 She was the daughter of Charles Trench O'Rourke, born c 1880, a farmer who owned a pack of harriers and hunted in North Galway. He has been described as being of 'Bermingham House, Tuam, Co. Galway'.7,8,9
She was quoted as 'the first woman master of the Galway Blazers...She was in her 90s [when she died] although her exact age was a well-guarded secret.
'As a young woman, Mollie Adele O'Rourke designed evening dresses in London and aspired to be an opera singer. But when she returned to Ireland in the '40s to care for her father, she began her career hunting with the Blazers. In 1946 she started her own pack, the Bermingham and North Galway Hunt (now the North Galway Hunt), and served as its jt.-MFH until 1984. She remained an honorary master until her death.
'She married Sir Dermot Cusack-Smith in 1946 and lived at Bermingham House near Tuam, County Galway, the site of an annual hunt ball where dinner was served in relays. Stories abound about her strong language, and Patrick White, chairman of the North Galway Hunt said, "She was the character that people expected her to be. She was truly one of the old stock."2 '

Under date April 5 the son wrote to us from Ballarat, Victoria, a genial letter of thanks, and asked us to forward an enclosure to his parents, who acknowledged the same thus:—"We return you many thanks for the trouble you have taken to find our dear son. We have not seen him for 18 years, and we should not have heard of him now if it had not been for you".9

'The town of Kleve lies in the west of Germany close to the Dutch border, approx 130kms to the north west of Köln, and approx 25kms to the west of Nijmegen. From the A57 motorway Köln to Goch take exit 2 (Ausfahrt 2) KLEVE / GOCH-WEST and follow the signs for KLEVE. After approx 2kms turn left onto the B504 and follow the direction KRANENBURG. Continue for approx 7kms and then turn right (CWGC sign) onto the GRÜNEWALDSTRASSE, direction KLEVE Continue for approx 3.5kms and the cemetery can be found on the right. The cemetery address is:- Grünewaldstrasse 47533 Kleve Germany GPS Location is:- N 51 44 21 E 06 04 48 Historical Information: Reichswald Forest War Cemetery was created after the Second World War when burials were brought in from all over western Germany and is the largest Commonwealth cemetery in the country. Some of those members of the land forces buried there died in the advance through Reichswald Forest in February 1945. Others died crossing the Rhine, among them members of the airborne forces whose bodies were brought from Hamminkeln, where landings were made by the 6th Airborne Division from bases in England. Some of the airmen buried in the cemetery lost their lives in supporting the advance into Germany, but most died earlier in the war in the intensive air attacks over Germany. Their graves were brought in from cemeteries and isolated sites in the surrounding area. There are now 7,594 Commonwealth servicemen of the Second World War buried or commemorated in the cemetery. 176 of the burials are unidentified.
