'Under this marble lies the body of Henry Roake who died much lamented on 5th April 1758 being age 58, dear father to his family sincere to his friends and true to all.4'
He left a will on 17 April 1758; and a transcript reads:

Henry Hall was born circa 1690 at Heckfield, Hampshire, England.1 He married Elizabeth (?) circa 1711.2 Henry Hall was a Gardener to the Hermitage on 22 March 1714. He was a Gardener of the Hermitage on 21 April 1716. He was a Gardener at Brookwood, Surrey on 1 February 1718. He left a will on 25 May 1749; Henry Hall of Woking, gardenrt , snr 25 May 1749

Stephen Judd was baptized on 13 May 1827 at All Saints Parish Church, Rettendon, Essex, England.2,3,4,5 He was the son of William Judd and Rebecca (?).1 Stephen Judd appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at Rettendon, Essex, England, as Steven Judd, age 15 and he was born in the county.6 He appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at Village, Wickford, Essex, England, as Lodger, unmarried, age 24, born Rettendon, Essex, and he was a Blacksmith.7,8 He married Martha Ann Philbrock, daughter of James Philbrick and Emma Suckling, on 11 October 1851 at St Mary, Runwell, Essex, England; and their marriage was recorded in the December quarter 1851 at Chelmsford Registration district.9,10,11,12 Stephen Judd was a Blacksmith on 22 September 1859 at Orsett, Essex, England.9 He appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at Orsett, Essex, England, as Head, married, age 34, birthplace Rettendon, Essex, and he was a Blacksmith and employer.
