'Mr Fred S Mosely, F.Z.S.' had announced their birth in The Times, seventeen days earlier. His 'villa' was visited by three gentleman who appear to have upheld his claim. He explains where they were purchased and how his servant 'who attends to all my pets' came to him with the unexpected news. He says his lack of experience and knowledge caused their deaths and made an appeal for information from The Graphic's readers. Also his letter appeared a few days earlier with the address of 24 Park-Village East, Regent's Park, as 'Marmozets Bred in London' on 20 October 1883 in The Illustrated London News.6,2
