(Gibbons) O'Brien; married, October 6, 1908, to Helen E. C. Madigan. Democrat. Lawyer; mayor of New York City, N.Y., 1933; delegate to Democratic National Convention from New York, 1936, 1940, 1944. Catholic. Member, American Bar Association; Tammany Hall; Elks; Friendly Sons of St. Patrick; Knights of Columbus. Died in New York, New York County, N.Y., September 22, 1951. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
