McDonald, Joseph A. (1876-1950) — also known as Joe McDonald — of Ester Creek, Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska. Born in Waltham, Middlesex County, Mass., May 15, 1876. Democrat. Went to the Klondike for the 1898 Gold Rush; merchant; member of Alaska territorial House of Representatives 4th District, 1929-33; Speaker of Alaska Territory House of Representatives, 1933. Catholic. Member, Elks. Died in Fairbanks, Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, July 20, 1950.
