Gillett, Frederick Huntington (1851-1935) — also known as Frederick H. Gillett — of Springfield, Hampden County, Mass. Born in Westfield, Hampden County, Mass., October 16, 1851. Republican. Member of Massachusetts state house of representatives, 1890-91; U.S. Representative from Massachusetts 2nd District, 1893-1925; elected unopposed 1920; Speaker of the U.S. House, 1919-25; delegate to Republican National Convention from Massachusetts, 1924, 1928; U.S. Senator from Massachusetts, 1925-31. Died July 31, 1935. Interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, Mass.
