March 12, 1899. Republican. Served in the U.S. Army during World War I; U.S. Representative from Connecticut 1st
District, 1939-41, 1943-45, 1947-49; defeated, 1940, 1944, 1948. Member, American Legion; Rotary. Injured in an
airplane crash in 1918 and lost both legs. Died 22 Nov 1950 - Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut. Interment at
Jordan Cemetery, Waterford, Conn.
