HOMER MICAJAH DAGGETT, JR.

Daggett, Homer Micajah, Jr. (1848-1925) Born in Attleboro, Bristol, Mass. on 22 May 1848. His gravestone is at The Mount Hope Cemetery in North Attleboro, MA and it lists the date of death as 1925. Went to Attleboro Public Schools except for one year at The Connecticut Literary Institute in Suffield, CT. He first taught school in Attleboro; in 1865 was a book-keeper; in 1868 introduced the manufacture of cotton yarn in Attleboro; in 1869 went to Arkansas and started the first cotton-seed oil mill in that state in 1870. he returned to Attleboro in 1872, and engaged in real estate and insurance business. In 1882 he engaged in the manufacture of jewelry. Was elected President of The Interstate Street Railway Company in 1893. The company office was in Pawtucket, RI. Sixth Sergent of artillery in the Artillery Company in 1886, the first Sergent in 1892.
