Bishop, Phanuel (1739-1812) — of Massachusetts. Born in Rehoboth, Bristol County, Mass., September 3, 1739. Member of Massachusetts state house of representatives, 1792-93, 1797-98; U.S. Representative from Massachusetts, 1799-1807 (at-large 1799-1805, 9th District 1805-07). Died in Rehoboth, Bristol County, Mass., January 6, 1812. Interment at Old Cemetery, Rumford, East Providence, R.I.
