of William Smith of Hancock

William Smith's Will Received Probate Court June 3, 1817
In the name of God Amen. I William Smith of Hancock in the County
of Berkshire and Commonwealth of Massachusetts being weak in body
but of a sound mind and memory do this thirty first day of March
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen
do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner
following that is to say.
1 I give to my well beloved wife Mary Smith the use (sic) of one
third part of all the Real Estate that I shall ??? ?????? of lying
within this Commonwealth during her natural life and five cows
and all my household furniture to her own disposal forever.
2 I give to my three eldest sons (viz) Daniel Smith, Willard Smith
and Tamptin (could be Tomptin, jml) Smith each of them five dollars
in addition to what I have heretofor gave to be paid by my Executor
in one year after my d?????.
3 I give to my son William Smith two hundred acres of land lying
in Canada in a place called St. Armond known and described by
the lott number one hundred and thirteen.
4 I give to my three eldest daughters (viz) Patience Streight,
Anne Brown and Mary Wells cash of them (sic) five dollars in addition
to what I have heretofor gave them to be paid by my Executor in
one year after my d?????.
5 I give to my son John Smith five dollars in addition to what
I have heretofor gave him.
6 I give to my daughter Sally Green one hundred dollars to be
paid by my Executor in one year after my d?????.
7 I give to my son Nathaniel Smith all the land that I own in
this Commonwealth together with all the buildings standing thereon
accepting fifteen acres of land I own adjoining Lanesborough west
line together with all my Personal Estate of what name or nature
????? except what is deposed of as mentioned above by his paying
all my Just debts.
Lastly I do constitute and ordain my son Nathaniel Smith sole
Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
Signed, sealed and published and declared by the said William
Smith.

Written in the presents of us who at his request and in his presents
here unto set our names as witnesses to the same.
